Hatch
Emergency Hatches are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions. They are used primarily as emergency escape hatches, or when opening from both sides is required.
The high and low level directly affects the loading and unloading efficiency of the cargo. In order to shorten the opening and closing time of the cargo hatch and reduce the labor intensity of the crew, at present, the cargo hatch cover mainly used by the ship has three types: rolling type, folding type and hanging type.
Hatch cover material is steel, aluminum, fiberglass and wood. Merchant ships generally use steel cargo hatch covers, which have the characteristics of high strength and strong impact resistance.
Aluminum and FRP cargo hatch covers have the advantages of light weight and corrosion resistance, but aluminum cargo hatch covers are expensive and complicated in manufacturing process.
